Introduction
A twin screw pump (also known as two screw pump / 2-screw pump) is a type of positive displacement pump. It transfers liquid through the meshing rotation of two parallel screws inside the pump chamber. As the screws rotate, sealed cavities are formed continuously, drawing in the medium at the suction side and pushing it to the discharge side steadily.

Working Principle of Twin Screw Pump
The twin screw pump consists of two intermeshing helical screws housed within the pump casing. When the drive screw rotates, it drives the driven screw. The rotating screws create a series of sealed volumetric cavities. Liquid fills these cavities at the suction port. With the rotation of the screws, the medium moves axially along the screw from suction to discharge. This design delivers continuous, pulsation-free flow. Unlike centrifugal pumps, twin screw pumps maintain stable flow even for high viscosity media.
